As I reflect on the past year, I think of all that I’ve accomplished and all that I want to do in 2016. It’s been a tremendous year of growth for me on a physical, mental, & emotional level. I’ve had to do a lot of work to master my mindset and stay in action. I have a lot of this growth to attribute to starting an online business from scratch.
And man, it’s been tough, much tougher than taking over and owning my brick & mortar business in San Diego. And, I really thought that I would be a lot further along than I am now, in one year, with my online business. Actually, I thought about quitting several times because I just couldn’t get to where I wanted to be or thought I “should” be…Does this sound familiar to any journey you’ve been on or goal you’ve wanted to achieve?
However, when I attended the Tony Robbins conference, “Unleash the Power Within”, back in October, he said the above quote and it really stood out to me because it can be applied to any area of our life that we are working to change or make progress in. It really shows the POWER of small action steps done CONSISTENTLY and how those results compound over time to produce BIG RESULTS!
I’m definitely not where I want to be and reaching as many people as I want to be after one year in the online space, but, who knows what’s possible in 5 years, if I keep going and taking consistent action. The same principle applies to our weight/fat loss, exercise goals, & career goals. It’s really a never ending journey.
I’m here to tell you that the characteristics and the growth mindset needed to start an online business are very similar to the ones that have to be mastered when it comes to building a business, body, or life of your dreams, too!
It’s scary how similar my fat loss journey has been to my online business journey. I’m truly convinced now that coaching mindset tips on the fat loss, & health journey to my online followers over the last year, is what has kept me from quitting my online business venture. Because, I was indirectly coaching myself to stay on task with my online action steps and goals. I mean, “I didn’t come this far to only come this far.”
As I bring this year to a close, I made this infographic of the characteristics that I think are important to have no matter what goal you are working on or towards. As soon as, you’ve found something that you really WANT to do and have a strong REASON for WHY you want to achieve something, it’s time to put these Elite Eight Traits into effect!
Now here’s the FUN part….I get to keep doing all of these in 2016! If I want to keep making progress, I’ve got to keep working the Elite Eight Traits! Because let’s face it, I’m really enjoying the process of creating solutions to problems, and I experience fulfillment from sharing my stories, insights, struggles, and providing value to all of those who come across my path, in my gym and in the online space.
How about you? Which trait is hardest for you to implement? Let me know in the comments below.
Thanks for Stopping By,
Tommie
